Dummy Plug

A Dummy Plug is a false Entry Plug developed as part of the Dummy System project in an effort to mobilize unmanned Evangelion Units by mimicking the thought patterns of qualified pilots. Since it is impossible to digitize the human Soul however, initial tests of the system prove highly unstable and the results disturbing (see Episode 18).

Dummy Plugs produced by NERV are based on the First Child, Rei Ayanami, while the plugs produced by SEELE for use with Evangelion Units 05-13 are based on Kaworu Nagisa, the Fifth Child and the Seventeenth Angel. Therefore NERV's Dummy Plugs are based on clones of Lilith, while SEELE's are based on clones of Adam.
