U.N. Forces

An abbreviation for Unites Nations Forces. Formed as a result of the wide-spread conflicts following the Second Impact, the U.N. Forces are the most powerful military force on planet. And yet despite their impressive arsenal, which includes Bio-Chemical (BC) and Non-Nuclear (N²) weapon technologies, the U.N. Forces were unable to combat the threat of the Angels due to their inability to penetrate AT Fields.

The United Nations itself, although powerful, is used by the SEELE organization to fund such projects as the Artificial Evolution Laboratory (Gehirn), Special Duty Organization NERV, Project E, and the Human Instrumentality Project. Although these projects appear under the authority of the U.N., in truth it is SEELE who determines how they are operated.
